Eid Mubarak Dear Community members,
May Allah SWT accept our efforts in this past Ramadan and allow us to continue what we learned into the next 11 months. Ameen
ISGH will hold its city wide Eid congregation salat tomorrow at NRG – Halls A & B. Use entrance gates 1 (Kirby), 2 (Holly Hall), or 3 (Naomi). Parking is $12.
Takbeerat will be at 8 am, with the salat starting at 10 am.
Prior to the salat:
- There will be a special Nasheed performance by some very talented local children
- Nasheeds will be followed by an address by Houston’s Mayor Sylvester Turner. Mayor Turner has always been a good friend to the Houston Muslim community and we encourage everyone to get to NRG early enough to be able to witness and hear the Mayor’s address. It is important in today’s tumultuous climate to show our full support to public office holders that care about the opinions of the Muslim community.
Mayor Turner has also issued a special proclamation designating June 25th, 2017 as Eid-ul-Fitr day for the city of Houston. See the official proclamation image on the AlSalamMasjid.org website.
The Eid-ul-Fitr prayer will be led by Imam Zaid Shakir, one of the most well known and prominent Muslim speakers the world over. Imam Zaid is one of the founding members of Zaytuna College in Berkley, California.
Transporation to NRG:
Masjid AlSalam has arranged for Limousine Buses to transport community members to NRG. This free service is intended for people that are unable to travel to NRG on their own. The buses will depart from the masjid parking lot at 8:15 AM, and will return to the masjid at 12:30 PM.
PLEASE RESERVE YOUR SEAT ON THE BUS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WE DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TOO FEW OR TOO MANY BUSES.
Local Salat:
To accommodate local needs of members unable to join the NRG salat, a local salat will be held at Champions at 7:15 AM inshALLAH.
Fitra:
Please pay your fitra before the Eid salat. The amount is $10 per person. You can either bring a check to the Eid salat or pay online on the masjid website HERE.
